NFS 2 U hangs on load screen (Win XP pro)

Hi all,
Can anyone help here? I have a dell laptop P4M 2.0ghz 1gig ram, Geforce
6800 256ram etc... pretty fresh intall, and im getting game hangs but
ONLY on the loading screen. What actually happens is the game just
doesnt load, there is no hdd activity, but I can alt tab out of the game
back into windows and shut it down and start over but its pretty random
and often does just not load.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem.
When i install MW it would hang, i then noticed that it was doing it on
every game on my PC.
I updated the graphics driver and all is now well again.

I installed the game on my PC as well. quite a fresh install and it does
it again. I have installed the latest patch from EA as well. I dont
really know what else to do, as I already have the most recent nvidia
drivers!
