So, I put the disc in my D: drive (DVD Player).........

I get to the options screen, hit the install and away we go.

Then when I hit the 'play' tab after the install, it tells me to 'Insert the
correct dvd and press ok'

WTF ???

I have no 'emulation' software, Daemon tools, alcohol, none....

I paid £29 for this crap....
anyone know whats going on ?

I read about the safedisc 4 protection stuff, and downloaded and installed
to safedisc driver fix, but still the game won't run.

Any ideas ?

Hmm. Finally got it to work by swapping my PC dvd players around.

Wish I hadn't bothered !

The career mode has got to be the most boring of all the NFS series yet.
Nice cars, nice tracks, great graphics, but all in all...a very boring game.

Oh well, we live and learn.

If you have multiple cd / dvd rom devices put the game in the
lowest lettered device.

If you have NFS7:Underground 1 installed, there's a conflict.
You need to make a backup copy of the Underground 1 program directory,
then uninstall it, install NFS9:Most Wanted, then restore the
Underground 1 directory, then click on start, programs, then
right click on EA Games to open this folder, and create a new
Underground 1 folder and add the short cut back for Underground 1.

OR, if you are confident enough to edit windows registry you can do the
following:

1) Start regedit (start menu->run->regedit)
2) Find key: HKLM/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/Need for Speed Underground
3) Rename the key temporarily to for example HKLM/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/TEMP
Need for Speed Underground

4) NOW install Most Wanted

5) When done, rename the modified key back to its original state
HKLM/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/Need for Speed Underground, and you're done...
