Question about cars

I just finished NFS MW, and I have a question. I finally got that BMW M3
back, and I notice that (at least according to statistics) he's no
better than my Dodge Viper (upgraded full). Can this be right?

Also, are those statistics (handling, top speed, acceleration) absolute?
For example if two cars have identical top speed and acceleration, and a
difference in handling, is it insured that the car with better handling
will be better overall? I'm assuming of course that both cars are
upgraded to the max.

No, if you install ultimate and junkman peformance parts, all cars will
show all three bars maxed out.

The two fastest cars are the Lotus Elise and the Porsche Carerra GT.

OK, thanks.

I've bought the Elise somewhere mid-game, but I wasn't all too impressed
with the performances. Perhaps I should have installed the junkman
upgrades on him.
I bought the Carrera GT when beating razor, and did a full upgrade. The
car is absolutely great. It has amazing acceleration, handling is
decent, IMHO, the best car in the game. Certainly beats that crappy BMW
M3. :-)

P.S.

I've beat the game without touching the performance menu in the game,
where you can manually raise or lower stats of the car. Am I missing out
on something here, or is it acceptable not to tweak it?

Try this savegame, all ultimate and junkman parts on all cars:

Regarding the Elise, try it at the sprint Rockridge and Union.
At the entrance into the left tunnel, you have to lift in most
cars, but the Elise can take that entrance flat out at 230mph.

I made a video of the Lotus Elise at Rockridge and Untion.
Time was 1:35.05. The Porsch Carerra GT may have a bit
more acceleration, and it has higher top speed (240mph
versus 230mph), but the Lotus Elise corners faster.

My web site is out of bandwidth until the 20th, so go

Scroll to the bottom of the page and download

nfs9rule.wmv

(ru = rockridge and union, le = lotus elite).
